The search effort continues for Trevor Hamlyn, who has been missing since June 16.
Police continue to assume the official investigation into Hamlyn’s disappearance, but this has not deterred family and friends from their continued effort to aid in the search however possible.
A close friend of Hamlyn’s, Nick King, has started a GOFUNDME page to raise money for the Hamlyn family and the continued search effort.
“I know even small things like making posters and reaching out takes money … anything we can do as family and friends to help,” King said Wednesday about what motivated him to create the crowdfunding page.
King grew up with Hamlyn in Mount Pearl, and the two have been close friends for several years.
“We’re trying to keep the momentum going for whatever outcome there is,” King said.
Within one day of having created the GOFUNDME page, King was $1,740 into his $10,000 goal. Currently the money is going to aid the search effort, and will be going to the Hamlyn family, who are aware of the page, regardless of the outcome of the current search efforts.
The next organized search for Trevor Hamlyn will take place Saturday. More information about the time and meeting place can be found through the Facebook group ‘Have You Seen Trevor Hamlyn Aka Pepsi?’
Donations to the search effort and Hamlyn family can be made through the GOFUNDME page: https://www.gofundme.com/searching-for-trevor-pepsi-hamlyn.
