It’s been three weeks since anyone has seen Trevor Hamlyn.

“He’s vanished,” said his sister, Ashley Hamlyn.

Ashley and a group of about 20 people met at Paradise Elementary on Sunday morning to continue searching for the missing 33-year-old.

He was last seen on June 16 in the area of Imogene Crescent in Paradise, and is described as 5’10”, 230 lbs, with a bald head and goatee.

“We’re going to search some new areas as well as some old areas,” said Ashley as she stood holding a clipboard on the school’s parking lot.

“We still want to cover lots of areas of Paradise that haven’t been covered yet by us or the police, so that’s our plan today. Also, we’ll put out more flyers, and just creating more awareness. It’s been three weeks – we’re going into week four now – and there’s still no tips or leads of what happened.”

A volunteer searcher wrote her name on Ashley’s clipboard to sign up for a search area.

A group of Cortney’s Search Angels also showed up to help.

Police have said they have concerns for Hamlyn’s well-being.

While Ashley said police are conducting an investigation, Hamlyn’s family and friends are doing their own research as well.

Ashley and Geoff, both Hamlyn’s siblings, have been searching for their brother ever since he went missing.

“We haven’t been working for the last few weeks – this has been our full-time job,” said Ashley. “We have been out every day that we physically could doing our own private searches.”

“If he is lost in the woods, it has been three weeks. You know, we’re being realistic that could not be a good situation. If he’s in hiding somewhere, well that’s a better situation. Or, if he was taken, once again, that could be a good or bad – it depends what happened to him. Unfortunately, we don’t even know which scenario to think about because we don’t know what happened to him.”

People can help by joining the Facebook group, ‘Have You Seen Trevor Hamlyn Aka Pepsi?’ There’s information on the group page about a GOFUNDME fundraiser started by a family friend to help with the search efforts. There’s also a meal train organized to provide the family with meals as they focus on finding Hamlyn.

Ashley said people can also print flyers, which can be found on the Facebook page, and post them in public areas “to try to spread the word.”

As well, there’s a fundraiser this Saturday, July 14 at Rob Roy starting at 9 p.m.

Police are still investigating and ask anyone with information to call the RNC at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). That includes anyone in the area of Imogene Crescent and Trails End Drive who have video surveillance on their homes or vehicle dash cameras.

People can also provide information anonymously on the NL Crime Stoppers Website at www.nlcrimestoppers.com.
