Nain man charged after marijuana sent through the mail

A 46-year-old Nain man is facing charges of trafficking, possession for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of property obtained by crime after police received information regarding drugs being shipped into the community through the mail system.

 The RCMP intercepted a package containing what is believed to be marijuana which was being sent to Nain.

On Thursday afternoon, the man who took possession of the package was arrested. He was held for provincial court today.

In total, the RCMP seized 380 grams of marijuana, and $145 in cash. The street value of the drugs is approximately $11,500.

The investigation is still ongoing at this time.
