The new Dr. C. V. Smith Memorial Community Health Centre in Glovertown was officially opened today by Susan Sullivan, Minister of Health and Community Services.
A news release notes the new centre, at a cost of $2.3 million, is a replacement of the previous facility in Glovertown. The new health centre will continue to offer the same services through its medical clinic, community health office and Telehealth services.
In addition, the new building now has a dedicated room for blood collection and a boardroom.
“This community health centre is now a modern facility that was designed to meet the needs of clients and staff,” said Rosemarie Goodyear, Interim CEO, Central Health.
“ Central Health’s priorities are access, healthy aging and quality and safety.”
