Emergency landing at St. John's airport

A webcam view of St. John's International Airport this morning. A Boeing 777 enroute to Frankfurt, Germany made an emergency landing at the airport around 3 a.m. this morning.

There was an emergency landing at St. John's International Airport early this morning.

According to the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary, a Boeing 777 enroute to Frankfurt, Germany experienced mechanical trouble and had to detour to St. John's.

The RNC responded and airport authority emergency services were deployed.

The plane landed safely without incident around 3 a.m.

The RNC said there were no injuries. The plane had more than 200 passengers on board at the time of the incident.
