The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is advising the public of a possible telephone scam.

The RNC says it is not currently soliciting for individuals or businesses to advertise in a magazine that is being published by the RNC.

Anyone who may receive such a call is asked to contact the police.

The RNC is also reminding the public to be vigilant when providing personal information to anyone and to ensure the authenticity of any group or organization that may be collecting funds.

Anyone with information in relation to this is asked to contact the RNC at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). People can also provide information on the N.L. Crime Stoppers website at www.nlcrimestoppers.com.
