RCMP officer pleads not guilty to child luring charge

Ian James Kaulback, the RCMP officer charged in February with luring a child over the Internet, pleaded not guilty today in provincial court in Happy Valley-Goose Bay.

Kaulback was not present in court, but was represented by his lawyer who addressed the court over the phone system.

According to the lawyer, Kaulback is in Nunavut.

The charge is one of unlawfully luring a child (under the age of 16) by means of a computer system.

The case has been set over to Sept. 5.
