UPDATE: Missing St. John's woman safely located

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary confirmed Wednesday evening that Melissa Hayes has been safely located.

It has been almost three weeks since a St. John’s woman was first reported missing to police.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary confirmed Tuesday afternoon that Melissa Hayes, 24, is still missing. According to police, she was last seen on Jan. 15.  A missing persons report was filed the following day.

The RNC has not released any details about where she was last spotted.

Hayes is described as 5’9” and 120 pounds with brown eyes. The RNC said its major crime unit is still investigating.
