TCH accident slows traffic near Foxtrap Access Road

A two-vehicle collision Wednesday afternoon on the Trans Canada Highway is causing delays for motorists traveling west.

The accident happened approximately one kilometer east of the exit to the Foxtrap Access Road. There are no details available about how the accident happened, but one car is stuck in the median in deep snow and a large SUV landed in a ditch sideways.

One person is being sent to hospital to receive treatment for unspecified injuries. Westbound traffic in the area is down to one lane. Paramedics, the St. John’s Regional Fire Department and RCMP officers responded to the accident.

Road conditions as of late Wednesday afternoon are dry, though there is drifting snow in some sections.
