Service NL offices moving from St. John’s to Mount Pearl

Two offices of Service Newfoundland and Labrador, the Vital Statistics Division and the Government Service Centre, now located at 5 Mews Place in St. John’s, will relocate to the Motor Registration Building in Mount Pearl on Monday.

In a news release, the province said both divisions will close as per usual at 4:30 p.m. on Friday and will reopen at their new location at 149 Smallwood Drive on Monday at 8:30 a.m.

The Vital Statistics Division registers all vital events – births, adoptions, marriages and deaths – and provides certificates regarding most of these life events to the public.

 The Government Service Centre provides licences, permits, inspections, design plan reviews and certificates for a variety of businesses and individuals, including:

• Food establishments

• Electrical/mechanical contractors

• Asphalt plants

• Land/building developments

• Electrical installations

• Septic systems and wells

• Waste management

• Fuel storage systems

• Small game/angling licences

• Abattoirs

• Swimming pools

• Highway signage
