Update:Man dead following vehicle/pedestrian accident in Goulds

Update: The male pedestrian killed in a vehicle/pedestrian accident Friday night in Goulds was fifty four years old. The man was struck by an eastbound car near Keith's Diner on Main Road. The RNC is notifying next of kin of the deceased and will not be releasing the name of the victim out of respect for family members.

Earlier story:

A man in his fifties is dead following a vehicle/pedestrian accident in Goulds Friday night. The accident happened on Main Road around 11 p.m.

The man was taken to hospital with serious injuries but succumbed soon afterwards. The road was closed for a time as officers with accident investigation and forensic identification services examined the scene.

The RNC continues to investigate and is asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to call the RNC at 729-8000 or Crimestoppers.
