A Quebec man is facing a number of charges after RCMP in Bay St. George seized 11 pounds of marijuana and 866 methamphetamine "Ice" tablets Tuesday.

Steve Belle-Isle, 24, of Drummondville, Que., was arrested 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

RCMP officers searched a vehicle and seized the illegal drugs.

A news release notes that “Ice” is the slang name used to describe crystal methamphetamines because of its resemblance to ice crystal, but it is also used interchangeably to describe powdered methamphetamines and methamphetamines in tablet form as in this case.

Belle-Isle appeared in provincial today on charges of possession methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession marijuana for the purpose of trafficking, and breach of a probation order made by a justice of the peace in the court of Sherbrooke, Que.
