Police in St. John’s are investigating a pair of armed robberies where the suspect managed to flee from the scene of the crime.

The first incident was an attempted armed robbery in the west end of the city. It happened at approximately 10:45 p.m., according to the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary.

Less than three hours later, officers were called to investigate an armed robbery in the centre city area. Police dogs were on the scene in both cases. The RNC has not indicated whether the two incidents are in any way connected.

As of early Sunday morning, both investigations were still ongoing.
