The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary responded to three moose-vehicle collisions in the Northeast Avalon area Tuesday night, where the operators of the vehicles involved failed to remain at the scene.

The RNC said two dead moose were removed from the Southern Shore highway in the area of Middle Pond by wildlife officers, while one injured moose was last seen in the area of Churchill’s Road, Portugal Cove.

The RNC also said a caller to police headquarters reported seeing eight moose on the Southern Shore Highway in the area of Middle Pond last night.
