Update: RNC says missing couple located safe

The RNC has successfully located Richard and Denise Lemire and has ensured their safety and wellbeing, it was announced today.

The RNC issued a news release Monday seeking the assistance of the general public in locating the two travellers who had been out of contact with family members in British Columbia for several days.

RNC looking for missing travellers

The RNC is seeking the assistance of the general public in locating two travellers currently in this province.

Earlier today the RNC received a call from the Vancouver Police Department requesting our assistance in locating Richard Lemire, 64, and Denise Lemire, 62, who are currently travelling in Newfoundland.

The couple arrived May 31, rented a vehicle and was last heard from on June 1.

The family has made several attempts to contact the couple but have been unsuccessful. The couple is travelling by car and is supposed to make stops in the areas of Gros Morne National Park and St. Anthony.

Richard Lemire is described as being 5’8”, 215 lbs with blue eyes and grey hair.

Denise Lemire is described as being 5’3”, 170 lbs with brown hair and brown eyes.

It is unknown what they were wearing at the time they were last heard from.
