The daylight hours of Saturday were popular with impaired drivers this weekend.

A 41 year old male is facing several charges following a Saturday morning of impaired driving. RNC officers received a report of an erratic driver in the area of Merchant Drive in Mount Pearl. The vehicle was located in the area and the forty-one year old male arrested for impaired driving and failing the breathalyzer. Further investigation led to an additional charge for failure to remain at the scene of an accident and other charges under the Highway Traffic Act. The accused was released to appear in court at a later date but his vehicle was impounded.

Later that same afternoon, RNC patrol officers responded to a complaint of an impaired driver in the Paradise area. A 51 year old male was arrested at a nearby gas bar. He is facing charges of impaired driving, failing the breathalyzer and driving while disqualified. He was held for court.
