Home invasion, break and entry into home also under investigation

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is investigating an armed robbery in St. John's Thursday night.

According to the RNC, two men, wearing dark-coloured hoodies made off with an undisclosed amount of money and cigarettes in an armed robbery at Needs Convenience store on LeMarchant Road around 11:18 p.m.

The suspects had their faces masked and were armed with knives.

There were no injuries in the incident. The RNC K-9 Unit  responded, but there have been no arrests.

Home invasion in centre-city

Meanwhile, there was also a home invasion Thursday night.

The RNC was called to a home invastion around 9 p.m. in the centre of St. John's.

Two men were arrested and charged with break and entry and breach of court orders. They were held in custody and will make a court appearance later this morning. There was no injuries, but minor damage occurred.

Break and entry into home under investigation

The RNC is also investigating a break and entry into a home in Torbay.

That incident occurred around 9:55 a.m. Thursday.

A 48-year-old man was charged with being unlawfully in a dwelling and mischief to property. The suspect was held in custody until a court appearance.
