Photos released of suspects in Marystown crimes

Police in Marystown believe two men were responsible for a pair of early-morning crimes committed last month.

Video footage taken at a local Ultramar gas station and Pardy’s Recreation has convinced Burin Peninsula RCMP that the two men were the same suspects in both cases. Police released photos of the men on Tuesday.

The incidents took place July 27 approximately 20 minutes apart. A man driving a dark-green Chevrolet Malibu left the gas station on Ville Marie Drive early that morning without paying for fuel.

A short while later, two men broke into Pardy’s Recreation on McGettigan Boulevard, leaving the business with merchandise and cash.

The vehicle in question has a licence plate number HHD 708 and the words ‘Terra Nova’ displayed on its back end.

Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to contact Burin Peninsula RCMP at 279-3001 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
