The Canadian Coast Guard ships Terry Fox and Louis St. St-Laurent arrived at the North Pole Wednesday after leaving St. John’s earlier this summer on a mission to the Arctic.

Many of the crew members onboard the icebreakers are Newfoundlanders and Labradorians.

The Louis S. St-Laurent has a total of 80 people onboard — 54 crew, two cadets, 1 naval architecture officer and 23 scientists — and the Terry Fox has a total of 27 people onboard, all crew.
