The new 80-metre ferry MV Veteran has docked in St. John’s harbour after finally making the trip over from Romania.
The ferry will service Fogo Island - Change Islands starting in November. It had previously been making the trip to Newfoundland when it had to return to port to have an engine replaced.
It will remain in St. John’s Harbour to clear customs, and to allow time for training and necessary adjustments.
Damen Shipyards in Romania is working on another ferry, the MV Legionnaire, which is expected to arrive in Newfoundland in the spring. That ship will service the Bell Island run.
