Just after 8:00 p.m. Friday  night police conducted a routine traffic safety stop on Pitts Memorial Drive in Mount Pearl.

A 25 year old male was found to be operating a vehicle without a valid insurance policy, suspended drivers licence, false registration stickers, unregistered vehicle and fail to transfer ownership of the vehicle when sold.

The accused also provided a false name to police and when this was discovered the male was charged with public mischief, breach recognizance and operating a vehicle while prohibited on a Canada wide prohibition order.

He was detained at the lockup to appear in court in the morning.
