N.L. vet proud to be part of memorial
There isn’t a single July 1 service at the National War Memorial in St. John’s that Alistair Downton remembers missing
The Department of Transportation and Works has confirmed that a dump truck aboard the MV Capt. Earl W. Winsor went into the water at Change Islands Monday evening while the ferry was unloading.
"There were no injuries and the appropriate agencies have been notified," the department said in a statement Monday night. "An investigation into the cause of the incident is underway."
The ferry was taken out of service for the remainder of the night. A contingency air service will be arranged if needed and weather permitting.
