Couple charged with selling oxycodone

A man and woman, both in their fifties, are facing drug charges after an RCMP investigation.

On March 12 members of the Burin Peninsula RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence in the town of Grand Bank.

During the search, an undisclosed quantity of prescription oxycodone pills were seized.

As a result of the investigation, 57-year-old Phillip Hillier, and 51-year-old Effie Hillier, of Grand Bank, are currently facing charges of trafficking, and possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled substance.

Both made a court appearance on Sunday March 13 and are awaiting release before their next court appearance on April 27.
