A man whose sudden death was originally deemed suspicious by police died of natural causes, the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary says.
The 44-year-old Wabush man was pronounced dead at his Winter Avenue home Saturday after police responded to a call about a sudden death just before 4 p.m.
The RNC said Monday the death was being treated as suspicious. The police force’s Major Crime Unit from St. John’s and its Forensic Identification Services from Corner Brook were dispatched to help investigate, along with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
After a short investigation, police confirmed Tuesday that the man died because of a pre-existing medical condition.
“We wish to offer our condolences to the man’s family and friends,” the RNC said in a news release. “For the privacy of the family, we will not be disclosing any further information.”
