Flying chunk of ice from van causes accident in Ferndale

This piece of ice came off the roof of a white cargo van in Ferndale this morning and landed on the windshield of a passing pickup truck.

Ferndale, N.L. - The RCMP in Placentia are looking for a white cargo van that was a factor in a motor vehicle accident this morning in Ferndale.

According to police, a large piece of ice flew off the roof of the van and struck the windshield of a pickup truck that was driving in the opposite direction.

As a result, the truck hit a guardrail, causing extensive damage to the vehicle. The van did not stop at the scene of the accident.

This pickup truck was involved in an accident after a chunk of ice from another vehicle smashed into the windshield.

Fortunately, the driver of the pickup was not injured in the crash.

Motorists are reminded to make sure all snow and ice is completely cleared from their vehicles.
