House in Mount Carmel destroyed by fire

A house was destroyed in an early morning fire in Mount Carmel.

Holyrood RCMP officers are investigating a house fire in Mount Carmel this morning.

The RCMP responded to the fire around 11 a.m.
Upon arrival, police officers found local firefighters on the scene battling flames coming from the residence.

The RCMP said in a news release, police spoke with the home owner Tom Nolan at the scene.

Details are still being gathered as part of the overall investigation.

However, no cause has yet been determined.

The RCMP said initial observations suggest the residence is a total loss. "Once the fire scene cools a trained fire investigator can examine the site."
