Close to 33,000 moose and caribou licenses awarded
The provincial government has completed its big game draw for the 2017-18 hunting season and will soon begin mailing out 32,089 licenses for moose and caribou.
Casey (right) and Finnegan, two golden retrievers from St. John’s, fell off a cliff recently. Casey did not survive, and a fundraising page has been set up to help pay for Finnegan’s surgery and vet care.
A golden retriever named Finnegan is in hard shape after a fall that was fatal for his friend Casey.
The pair fell off a cliff while on a hike April 16. Now, along with losing Casey, Finnegan is suffering from a broken leg, chest trauma and other internal injuries.
A gofundme page was set up by a friend of the dogs’ owner to help with surgery and vet care costs. Within a day, more than 100 people donated about $4,000.
Many left messages of condolences on the page and wished Finnegan a speedy recovery.
“Denise we are so sorry for what you are going through. Take comfort in knowing that Casey had the best home ever. You and Finnegan will need each other to get through this now. Hugs my friend, xo,” reads a note from Glenda and Randy Keating.
Any donations that are not needed for the cost of Finnegan’s vet bills will be donated to the SPCA.
