RNC investigating stabbing in St. John's

Around 12:30 a.m. this morning (Thursday), the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) responded to a stabbing on Empire Avenue west in St. John's.

The victim was taken to the hospital prior to police reaching the scene and suffered non life-threatening injuries.

Patrol officers along with the police dog unit, as well as members of the RNC criminal investigation division and forensic identification section responded to the incident.

The investigation is continuing and police say it's believed the victim and suspect knew each other.
