PLACENTIA, NL — The Placentia Lift Bridge is experiencing some issues as of yesterday, July 16th.

Yesterday afternoon, the Lift Bridge in Placentia was closed to traffic due to being stuck in the open position. Drivers going through the area were advised to detour around the bridge via routes 100-10 and 91.

As of Monday morning, July 17th, the issue has been assessed, and the bridge has been reopened to motorists, but closed to marine traffic.

The state of the lift bridge will remain as is for an indefinite period of time while waiting for the proper part to fix it arrives, which could take approximately one week.

During that time, the bridge will remain open to motorists.
