The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) general investigation unit has arrested one man and is searching for a second suspect in connection with a June armed-robbery investigation.

On June 7, just after 4 p.m., officers with patrol services, criminal investigation, forensic identification and police dog services responded to an armed robbery at Green’s Pharmacy on the C.B.S. Highway.

Witnesses told police a lone man with his face concealed entered the business armed with a firearm and demanded paramedical drugs.

The lone man fled to an awaiting vehicle and got away before police got there.

The man was described as 5’4” to 5’5” tall with a stocky build, and wearing all black clothing and a black mask.

The vehicle used to flee the scene was a white Ford panel van.

On Friday, investigators arrested 60-year-old Leonard Clarke of C.B.S. He is alleged to have been driving the get-away van.

The lone man who police say entered the store is still at large and has not been identified.

The RNC general investigation unit is asking anyone who has information to call the RNC at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). You can now provide information anonymously on the NL Crime Stoppers website at: www.nlcrimestoppers.com.
