911 called after ball python escapes habitat in St. John’s home

A family called 911 after its pet, a ball python snake, escaped from its habitat Friday night in the west end of St. John’s.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary reports that officers responded to the call at 2 a.m. Saturday and found that the snake was loose in the home.

The python had not been found at the time the report was issued — 5:31 a.m. Saturday — but it was believed to still be in the home.
