There were no serious injuries following a moose-vehicle collision on the Trans-Canada highway near Soldier’s Pond Sunday night.

The incident happened when a sports car collided with a bull moose that was crossing the highway. The collision caused extensive damage to the windshield and passenger compartment of the Corvette and killed the animal. The two occupants of the car, a man and woman, were treated on scene by paramedics but were not seriously injured. Eastbound traffic was down to one lane in the area until the scene could be cleared. This section of highway has been the scene of multiple moose-vehicle collisions since the spring of the year.
