The man was also charged with a firearms offence. He is in custody and will appear in provincial court in Grand Falls-Windsor Monday morning.

The lone occupant of the home was not injured during the invasion, but one of the two male suspects was transported to hospital in St. John’s with serious injuries, where he remains.

Police are still searching for the other suspect, who fled the scene.

The RCMP says the shooting appears to have been targeted, and no danger to the public is apparent.

Anyone with information about the invasion who could help in the investigation is asked to call the Grand Falls-Windsor detachment of the RCMP at 709-489-2121 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

The RCMP’s Major Crime Unit, Police Dog Services, Serious Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Services are all investigating. More details on the incident are expected to be released today.
