Bail hearing for disruptive flight passenger set over in Gander

GANDER, NL – After two brief court appearances for a bail hearing in Gander provincial court on Monday, Leke Loshi was held in custody pending another court appearance.

The 24-year-old man’s case was set over until Jan. 16 at 1:30 p.m.

Loshi, from Bronx, New York, was charged after he allegedly became unruly, causing a Swiss air flight to be diverted to Gander on Jan. 13.

While the details of the case were not discussed, information filed by the RCMP claims Loshi, “did intentionally interfere with the performance of the duties of flight crew members thereby endangering the safety or security of an aircraft in flight or of persons on board contrary to section 7.41(1) of the Aeronautics Act., RSC 1984, Chapter A-2”
