Bail hearing Monday for Paradise home invasion suspects

Four men made brief court appearances in court Friday on charges stemming from a home invasion in Paradise late Thursday night.

Tyler Donahue, 23; Abdifatah Mohamed, 27; Mitchell Nippard, 25; and Gary Hennessy, 32, were all remanded into custody pending bail hearings in court on Monday.

The four were charged following what police are calling a targeted robbery at a home on Angel Road in Paradise late Thursday.

All four men were charged with armed robbery, break and entry (home invasion) and breaching conditions of court orders.

Donahue and Mohamed are also charged with forcible confinement

Two people were in the home at the time of the incident and neither was physically injured, police say. It was reported to police several armed and masked men forced their way into the home and fled with a quantity of electronics and jewelry. 

Police say the incident is believed to have been a targeted incident.

The men fled the area in a vehicle before police arrived.

Moments later, police officers say they located the suspect vehicle abandoned near a wooded area on Dawe’s Road. The RNC’s tactics and rescue unit (TRU) helped search for the men, who were arrested without incident by two police dog units. A firearm was seized during this incident.

A short time later, a second suspect vehicle was stopped on Topsail Pond Road by patrol officers and two additional men were arrested in connection with the home invasion. That vehicle, along with the first vehicle, was seized by police.

Police say the two men arrested by police dog services were additionally charged with forcible confinement for their alleged role in the incident.
