Bail hearing tomorrow for man accused of stealing firearm

Adam Hanlon, who is accused of stealing a firearm from a St. John’s business earlier this week, is in custody until his bail hearing tomorrow.

Sunday, an O’Leary Avenue business reported that a lone male stole a firearm and ammunition before taking off in a damaged Honda Civic. Hanlon was arrested Tuesday evening in Goulds.

Hanlon, 35, appeared in provincial court Wednesday morning on charges of possession of a weapon obtained by commission of an offence; unauthorized possession of a firearm; unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle; unlawfully possessing a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition; and driving while disqualified.

His bail hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. Thursday.
