Shannon O’Dea Dawson, daughter of the late Fabian A. O’Dea, who died Feb. 16 at the age of 73, is sprucing up the area in memory of her dad, who was known to many of his friends as “Fay.”

O’Dea Dawson said the area is family owned land, and, “Dad loved gardens and always wanted to beautify the green spaces around him, and with Father’s Day this weekend, it is my special way to say thank you to him.”

There are six flowering crab trees planted along the pathway, as they were his favourite tree, she said in between planting the garden with flowers and shrubs on Friday afternoon.

The path, used by thousands over the years, will now be known as “Fay’s Way.”
