A motorcyclist who says he was rear-ended by a pickup truck driver in downtown St. John’s is checked by paramedics following the incident.

The motorcyclist told an emergency official on scene that the pickup driver originally suggested that both vehicles pull to the side of the road after the incident so they could exchange information. That’s when the pickup driver took off. The biker then chased the pickup to Old Petty Harbour Road where he gave up the pursuit and the truck escaped, but not before he captured photos of the truck and its licence plate with his cell phone. The photos and information were given to an RNC officer who arrived on scene where the chase ended. The biker was checked out by Eastern Health and St. John’s Regional fire department paramedics but his injuries were not considered serious.
