Car strikes Paradise traffic pole overnight, another ends up in Torbay ditch

There were no serious injuries late Wednesday night after a car struck a traffic pole on Topsail Road in Paradise.

The incident happened at about 11:00 p.m. at the eastbound entrance to the Outer Ring Road at Topsail Road and left the car with moderate damage. The occupants of the vehicle were checked by paramedics but no one was taken to hospital. In another collision at about 3:30 a.m. Thursday morning, a female driver escaped injury after the car she was driving left the road and went into a ditch. The incident happened on Pine Line in Torbay and left the moderately damaged vehicle nose-down in the ditch and debris spread across the road. There was no information available as to what caused either collision and the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is investigating.
