Cars seized, charges laid during traffic stops in Summerford

SUMMERFORD, NL – Two men are facing charges and had their vehicles seized following separate traffic stops by the Twillingate RCMP in Summerford on Wednesday.

A 50-year-old man has been charged with operating a vehicle while suspended, operating a vehicle without an insurance policy, imprudent driving, crossing a solid line and using a false identification plate.

A 35-year-old man was charged with operating a vehicle without a driver’s licence and without an insurance policy.

Tickets issued as a result of the two incidents totalled over $7,500.

Twillingate RCMP is reminding the public valid driver’s licence, insurance and vehicle registration is a requirement to operate a motor vehicle in the province.
