The cause of the fire that extensively damaged the old Barrett’s Print Shop and the original home of The Western Star on Star Street in Corner Brook Saturday night has not yet been disclosed by the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary.

Police said releasing any further information was delayed Monday by the Orangeman’s Day holiday observed by provincial government employees.

The Western Star was also unsuccessful in reaching the current primary owner of the vacant building that printed the first edition of the newspaper in 1900.
