The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said Tuesday the Irving/Circle K on Elizabeth Avenue in St. John's was targeted by an armed robbery overnight.

With the assistance of K9 and the criminal investigation Division a 25-year-old man was arrested and charged with several criminal code offences. He was held in custody for court this morning.
