The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is seeking help in solving a convenience store robbery on Freshwater Road early Wednesday morning.
They were called to the scene at 12:30 a.m. after it was reported a lone man entered the store and demanded money from the clerk.
The clerk provided him with the cash and he fled the scene on foot. It has not been disclosed how much cash was taken in the robbery.
The suspect is described as approximately 6-0 and average build with brown hair. He was said to be wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, dark T-shirt, jogging pants and white sneakers. He was also described as being clean shaven and wearing a black baseball hat with a flat brim.
The RNC is asking anyone with information about this robbery to call them at 709-729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). This information can be provided anonymously.
The RNC responded to 196 calls for service during its 24-hour reporting period.
