Fire and police personnel responded to a burning blaze at 23 Dyke’s Road during the wee hours of Sunday morning. The blaze is under investigation. Damage was extensive, as evident in this shot taken around noon Sunday.

The once-tidy looking yellow bungalow at 23 Dyke’s Road was left to charred black ruin after fire ripped through the piece of property tightly tucked in between two neighbours.
Those neighbours beared a brunt of the blaze, left with extensive damage as the high heat had its way with the siding and exterior of the two buildings.
A large camper, parked at the side of the house, was burned out in the back of the vehicle. A black 4 x 4 pickup truck, also parked in front of what used to be the main entrance of the home, was surprisingly left unscathed other than some soot and black Police and fire personnel responded to a report of a fire at a residence on Dyke’s Road around 4:25 a.m. Sunday morning. Extensive damage to the home was discovered and the residence was unoccupied at the time so there were no injuries to report.
A police presence was being maintained at the scene Sunday afternoon. The matter remains under investigation at this time by Royal Newfoundland Constabulary fire investigators.
