Rats!

The word best coined by Charlie Brown of “Peanuts” made it to the Stephenville town council table at the latest meeting of the group.

This time it was being used by Coun. Mike Tobin who said he was speaking to a couple with a rodent problem on their property at Queen Street Ext.

“They’re being tormented by rats,” he said. “We have our public works division on it.”

Mayor Tom Rose said this is a public health issue and it certainly doesn’t make anybody comfortable when rodents that size are around. He said the Provincial Department of Health has been advised and they’re also working on it.

“Hopefully the solution comes sooner rather than later,” he said.
