Crews meet heavy fire at Kilbride home

Firefighters along with the RNC and Eastern Health paramedics are at the scene of a structure fire on 41 Fahey Street in Kilbride.

Fire broke out just before 9 a.m. and St. John's Regional Fire Department platoon chief Robert Fowler said they were met with heavy fire and smoke in the home, mainly in the kitchen area.
The two upstairs occupants and a tenant downstairs all made it out safely.
As of 9:20 a.m., crews were still battling the fire and Fahey Street was closed to traffic.
