A preliminary inquiry into a charge of dangerous driving that resulted in the death of a Cow Head teen last September has been moved to Oct. 26.

Seventeen-year-old Justin Simon Hynes died after he was struck by a vehicle while walking to school.

Neila Annett Blanchard, 56, of Parson’s Pond was charged with the offence just over three months after the accident.

She has elected to be tried in the Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador and a preliminary inquiry had been set for Nov. 20.

That date was changed during an appearance in provincial court in Corner Brook on Wednesday.
