Marine Contractors has been given the nod to do the complete overhaul planned for Fourth Avenue.

The contract, awarded with the approval of town council at its public meeting Tuesday, is worth $1,007,792. The only other bid submitted came from West Coast Excavating, whose bid came in at just over $1.3 million.

The work on Fourth Avenue, which is the last phase of the rejuvenation of the High Street area of town, will feature the installation of new water and sewer infrastructure and new curbs, gutters and sidewalks.
