Knowing there was some bad weather on the way, Lindsay was desperate to track down Odie before it was too late.
But luck was on the North River resident’s side. A message on the Baccalieu Trail SPCA’s Facebook site posted early Tuesday morning indicated Odie was spotted on Birch Hills. A few hours later, Odie was back in Lindsay’s arms.
“It's amazing how people in a community come together, and when they do, great things can happen,” Lindsay told The Compass last week. “I am so thankful!”
Conditions that morning were treacherous to say the least, with heavy snowfall and strong winds closing schools and businesses all over Conception Bay North. Remarkably, Lindsay had others willing to help with the search.
Clarence Wilson, a Spaniard’s Bay resident, and his German Shepard Wilma, both of whom are building a reputation for tracking animals, were out the previous two evenings to help search. They were once again ready to help that morning, as were family and friends.
The search started at 6 a.m. Odie was located shortly after noon Tuesday between a graveyard and the Silverwood Inn Hotel in Bay Roberts.
