ST. ANTHONY, N.L. – A dog owner received a surprise when they returned to their vehicle in St. Anthony on Wednesday, July 18.
The RCMP was waiting and charged the individual under the Animal Health and Protection Act for confining an animal in an enclosed space without adequate ventilation.
According to a release today, July 20, police were tipped off about the animal just after 6:30 p.m.
The temperature at the time was 25 degrees Celsius, the vehicle was off and the windows were shut.
The dog was reported to be in the vehicle for more than a half hour by the time it was reported to police, the release noted.
